What instruments are included?
Worship By Numbers is launching with a Beginner Guitar Course that also introduces the Nashville Number System. More instruments coming very soon, and your subscription gets you access all past, current, and future content!
How is this similar to or different from traditional music lessons?
In a couple of important ways!
Traditional music lessons typically walk through various books about how to play the instrument, making it tedious and boring for new students. Also, traditional music lessons require you to show up each week at a particular place and time, and therefore increase the demands on students (and their parents, when applicable).
This gets worse when you consider that students will go though periods of learning where they might be stuck going over the same material for multiple lessons in a row as they move from one level to the next.
Our method turns this on its head. “The basics” are covered in short, standalone lessons that can be accessed at any time. Students can move at their own pace without judgment, tedium, or wasting valuable time. Of course, you can also live anywhere in the world and take our lessons at any time.
However, we realize that personalized instruction matters, which is why our “Guided” option is available. Through video messaging, we can still work 1-on-1 with students to make sure they are grasping the concepts being taught in our courses. It’s 1-on-1 instruction that doesn’t require a specific time/location commitment each week, and check-ins can happen when the student is ready.
It’s the best of both worlds — personalized help when needed, independent learning when desired. And you can always access any lesson at any time to get a refresher.
Is this program right for children?
While we do not have an area of focus specifically in children’s music, we feel as though children 9 years old and above will be able to grasp the course material and learning pace. We will consider whether younger children might be right for the program on a case by case basis.
What if I need personalized help?
Make sure to choose the “Guided” version of the membership, which allows you to interact with us 1-on-1! We use “asynchronous” (as opposed to real-time) video messaging with an app called Marco Polo. Just send us a video anytime and we’ll get back to you with our help and suggestions!
Do I have lifetime access to the course material?
Current paying members have full access for as long as the product is available! As long as Worship By Numbers is around, you have access.
Did you invent this method?
The core method we use is called the Nashville Number System, which we did not invent. It is used across the world today, especially among professional studio and touring musicians.
That said, our way of training and teaching the method is unique and, we think, will provide a helpful framework all the way from beginner to advanced players.
Will the membership be added on to?
Yes! Our two staff instructors play around 15 instruments combined at various levels of skill, and our network is even larger. We plan for Worship By Numbers to be the premier destination for worship and church musicians to learn and grow together.

Are there tests or quizzes?
Nope! Consider this more like a training guide than an academic course.
What format is the course in?
Each lesson will be in video walk-through format and accompanied by short written posts. Tools will be in PDF or application form, and 1-on-1 instruction takes place on a secure video platform called Marco Polo.
